Other Information: Kody had a tough start to his life living on the railroad tracks in east Oakland until his mom and 5 siblings were taken to the Oakland SPCA for a warm place to sleep that served food every single day! There were 2 yellow puppies and 4 black puppies in Kody’s litter and Mom looked mostly like a black labrador retriever, but we don’t really know about Kody’s dad. At 8 weeks of age, Kody found a partner at the SPCA that recognized his potential and decided to take him home. Kody started training immediately as a search and rescue dog and then started going on searches when he was a little over one year old.
Now that Kody is all grown up, he looks and acts like an extra fluffy yellow labrador retriever with white freckles on his nose and a white diamond on his head. He is a fun loving guy that appreciates people who carry big treats and know how to throw a frisbee, but he takes his work very seriously. At 13 years of age, Kody has has been on over 150 searches and is still working to get his human partner fully trained.
Favorite Toy: Frisbee, but REALLY likes treats!
